I am a Director of the financial services division of Smith Cooper, based in Birmingham. I cover a range of services, from technical pension issues for listed companies through to arranging and managing the private wealth of individuals.
What can I do for your organisation?
I conduct a fully independent financial planning service to enable corporate, trustee and private clients to optimise their financial resources.
I have over 20 years’ experience in financial services and qualified as a Chartered Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, so I count myself among the highest qualified in the profession. I graduated with first-class honours in Business Management and hold a Master’s degree in Financial Planning. My formative years in the profession were spent as a pensions specialist, and I’ve held senior positions within my previous firms and on consultancy projects. Prior to joining Smith Cooper in 2008, I had time with a boutique wealth management company that focused on investments. I thoroughly enjoy my work helping with all aspects of financial planning, and I really value our independent status.
I am a visiting lecturer for undergraduates reading Economics, Finance and Accounting, and I also coach postgraduates towards their professional qualifications in financial planning.
As well as advising clients on the full spectrum of investments, we help with personal risk management, inheritance tax planning, corporate pensions and corporate risk management, SSAS, SIPP, and trustee investments.
I am married with a young daughter, so spare time is limited, but I am a keen golfer and a season-ticket holder at Wasps Rugby Club. As my colleagues will testify, I have an obsession with products made by Apple!
