I am a Senior Manager in Smith Cooper’s Nottingham office. I have over 35 years of experience in the accounting profession. As a general practitioner, I look after a portfolio of clients, many of which are owner-managed businesses, across a wide range of business sectors.
What can I do for your organisation?
I can ensure that you receive a full range of appropriate general practice services in a timely and efficient manner.
I am a fully qualified chartered accountant. After attending Trent Polytechnic, now Nottingham Trent University, I qualified as a chartered accountant and trained as an auditor with Deloitte.
To develop my general practice skills, I then joined local Nottingham accountancy practice Prior and Palmer and, subsequently, Blythens. In 2007, Smith Cooper’s Nottingham office merged with Blythens.
Within Smith Cooper, along with all my general practice roles, I sit on the audit committee, with responsibility for audit compliance and technical support in accounting and auditing standards in the Nottingham office.
I have expertise working with clients in a wide range of business sectors, including construction, engineering, textiles, food, trade associations, property management, solicitors, pension schemes, education, entertainment and the film industry. I also oversee the administration of two significant charitable trusts.
I am married with two grown-up sons. I am a member of Notts County Sailing Club, and I also enjoy walking and playing five-a-side soccer, as well as keeping fit by running and going to the gym.
