I am a Manager, based at Smith Cooper’s Ashbourne office. I have over 20 years’ experience of advising a range of small owner-managed-business clients on all manner of accountancy and taxation matters.
What can I do for your organisation?
I can ensure that we provide a highly professional and friendly service.
I qualified as a certified accountant in 2004 and have worked at a range of smaller accountancy firms in Staffordshire and Derbyshire, building up my experience of small owner-managed businesses and providing accountancy and tax services for these.
I joined Smith Cooper in 2008 and took over a mixed portfolio of clients that I could turn my expertise to.
I have experience in working with clients across a range of sectors, including agriculture and construction.
Having worked for smaller accountancy firms, I have been able to focus my skills on dealing with sole traders, partnerships and smaller limited companies, dealing with both the preparation of annual financial statements and taxation requirements.
With most of my working life being spent in rural communities, I have gained a sound knowledge of the preparation of farming accounts, whether they are those of large or small sole traders, partnerships or limited companies.
I can also help with the use of most current computer packages, including Sage, QuickBooks and Sum-It.
Outside of work, I am currently a county vice president for the Staffordshire County Federation of Young Farmers Clubs. This can involve judging or stewarding competitions as well as being caught behind the BBQ helping feed hungry competitors, judges and stewards! I have a life membership of Ashbourne Shire Horse Society and annually help out in the livestock section at Ashbourne Show. I also enjoy going for walks in the countryside with my husband and dog.
