Following what has been a challenging six months for our firm and the wider accounting profession and economy in general, we’re pleased to announce we’ve been ranked the 41st largest UK firm in the Accountancy Age Top 50+50.

Whilst the outbreak of COVID-19 and the government-imposed restrictions led to several of our larger advisory projects being put on ice, the financial year to 31 March 2020 marked another pleasing step forward in the delivery of our long-term vision.

David Nelson, Senior Partner at Smith Cooper comments “2019 was a very pleasing year for Smith Cooper, with us becoming a UK Top 40 accounting firm for the first time and the fastest growing (measured by % growth) within the top 50, which was testament to the quality of our expanding client base and the hard work, professionalism and expertise of my colleagues.”

“In the year to March 2020, we continued to witness pleasing growth across most of our service lines, bolstered by a greater strategic focus. We continue to invest substantially in client-centric technologies and focus on improving our operational efficiencies, whilst enhancing our team of experts with several strategic appointments.”

James Bagley, Managing Partner at Smith Cooper comments “I am proud of the team that we have built, and the organic growth and success we continue to achieve. We recorded another strong growth in revenue for the financial year to 31 March 2020, and whilst we anticipate a lower level of revenue growth next year as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, I’ve no doubt we will continue to adapt and prosper to address the changing needs of the economy, and help our clients to do the same.”

“The accounting profession as a whole is facing a critical period, and now is the time for organisations such as ours to critically rethink how we support our clients, enhance our services, and navigate a post-pandemic Britain.”
