Smith Cooper accountants and business advisors have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Professional Services Award at the 2016 Birmingham Post Business Awards.

The Birmingham Post Awards evening will be held at The ICC, Birmingham on Wednesday 26th October, 2016. The Awards, which have grown in importance in the business calendar over the years, celebrate the successes of the Birmingham business community, with 13 awards being presented on the night. Throughout the evening funds will be raised for the Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The Smith Cooper team will be up against 2 other finalists on the night.

Head of the Birmingham office, Jackie Hendley, commented “Birmingham is an exciting and vibrant city with masses of other professional service firms, so we are absolutely thrilled to be named a finalist in such a competitive category.

“After growing our Birmingham office by 40% and introducing new and specialist service lines in the past year it is great to have our success and reputation recognised in such a way.  We plan to continue to support the local market place, through support and activities with The Birmingham Chamber of Industry and Commerce; Colmore Business District and Marketing Birmingham to name a few and to continue investing in high calibre staff to further enhance the service we offer to both clients and prospective clients”.

The announcement comes shortly after the Business Recovery & Insolvency team were listed as finalists for two awards in the prestigious TRI Awards and just a week after the Birmingham team scooped SME Advisory Team of the Year at Insider’s West Midlands Dealmaker Awards. The firm has also just announced their listing in Accountancy Age Top50+50.

Smith Cooper offers accountancy and business advisory advice alongside other specialist services such as independent financial advice, Sage software sales and support, managed IT services, mobile phone and communications for businesses and mortgages.
