Smith Cooper’s specialist Innovation division is on the hunt for a new Digital Transformation Assistant who will play an instrumental part in Smith Cooper’s digital transformation, which includes creating and developing a digital working environment that breaks down organisational working silos, helping shape our evolving digital strategy.

Digital transformation is the process of future proofing an organisation by adapting existing business practices and switching to digital methods where necessary to increase efficiency and keep up with rapidly changing market demands – something which has proved unavoidable for the vast majority of businesses in recent months in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Orla Flint, Head of Innovation at Smith Cooper who is responsible for streamlining the company’s processes using software and automation comments “As a progressive organisation continually intent on streamlining our operations and boosting productivity, we don’t like to do things the way they have always been done. Instead we prefer to challenge existing processes and make things easier and better for our staff and clients by harnessing technology more efficiently.”

“As Smith Cooper continues to expand, the innovation department is growing, which is incredibly exciting for us. We want someone who will help to keep us ahead of the game, automate mundane processes and replace them with more exciting solutions.”

As a professional services firm, each of our internal departments are intrinsically linked and must operate collaboratively to help us achieve our company mission and goals. The Innovation team have recently introduced new systems to allow for automation of admin duties, implemented Power Bi dashboard, allowing access to real time data which is more important than ever, introduced flows and SharePoint forms to automate laborious tasks and also led the movement towards a paperless office by installing document management automation. These changes have been rolled out across our multifaceted firm, benefitting all service lines.

James Bagley, Managing Partner at Smith Cooper comments “By harnessing the internal skills within each functionality, and working closely with colleagues in other departments, we aim to provide the most fluid and reliable service to our clients, but also streamline processes for our staff.”

“Over the last 12 months our Innovation team have been gearing towards a more efficient way of operating, by designing an extensive technical infrastructure that is not only original, but fully integrated. The team’s expansion is testament to the impact they have upon the wider company, which is fantastic to watch.”
