Ascend is the new initiative being launched by Derby City Council, designed to support and nurture the most promising businesses in Derby, whilst creating hundreds of new jobs in the city.
The £5million programme is intended to help businesses prepare and implement growth plans, and support them in securing investment where appropriate, providing access to high-quality, bespoke growth advice, and scale-up loan funds, enabling an ‘entrepreneurial eco-system’ to flourish within the city.
The authority has developed its Ascend programme as part of the city’s coronavirus economic recovery strategy – devised to ensure that Derby can build back successfully after the COVID-19 pandemic.
