HMRC recently confirmed that the IR35 Off Payroll Legislation will be extended from the Public Sector into the Private Sector with effect from 6th April 2020.
The extension of the legislation will have a significant impact for many businesses engaging third party workers as well as the self-employed workers providing their services via intermediaries such as Personal Service Companies, Agencies and Umbrella Companies.
We will be hosting free seminars, taking place at our offices in Derby and Birmingham as well as a seminar at Trent Bridge in Nottingham during which we will discuss:
- What is the impact of the legislation and who will be affected;
- What are the key issues;
- Who will be responsible for:
Deciding who is caught by the legislation;
Deducting PAYE & NIC;
Paying HMRC
- What do affected businesses need to do now?
- What processes businesses should introduce to reach considered and supportable decisions.
- How those decisions should be communicated to relevant parties.
The seminars will be presented by Laura Parr and Mick Verney from Smith Cooper’s Employment Tax team. Laura and Mick are both ex HMRC Employer Compliance Inspectors, each with over 30 years’ experience of advising clients on employer compliance issues. Since April 2017 they have already helped many clients, within the Public Sector, to introduce structured arrangements to effectively manage the Off Payroll rules, and they will share those experiences with you.
Format
Breakfast will be served on arrival from 8:30am, followed by the seminar which will begin at 9:00am until approximately 10:00am, when further tea and coffee will be provided.
Please feel free to forward this invite to any relevant people within your organisation.
