Smith Cooper  provided commercial support to Loughborough-based internet network provider, Globalwave Communications, which was acquired by TFM Networks in a deal supported by Yorkshire Bank.

TFM was formed in 2003 and employs 17 staff, whilst Globalwave was established in 2001. Both operate in the managed services and networks market, providing packaged telecoms services to multi-site small and medium-sized businesses.

Globalwave moved from operating primarily in website development and design to acting as a managed network provider, joining BT’s Collaborative Partner Programme in 2004. It provides internet network services to BT’s small to mid-tier customers.

The technical director of Globalwave prior to the sale, joins the group board of TFM.
