Corporate Finance, we certainly had a great year: we completed over
25 deals in 2014, very significantly topping the 2013 tally, a really

and we are optimistic that this will be another good year for our clients,

Welcome to our new look Deal Dispatch Newsletter. Since the last newsletter the global recession has rumbled on, albeit through terrific summer weather; perhaps it’s that which, amongst other things, has brought a more optimistic outlook to many of the clients and professionals we deal with. Certainly, the outlook now looks a lot brighter for UK M & A work.

Looking backwards, the recent review from Experian records a 13.2% drop (to 416) in the number of deals in the Midlands in the three quarters to 30 September 2013, compared to the like for like period in 2012. Deal values plummeted by 75% in the same periods.

Deal Dispatch - Issue 17

Hot on the heels of our October Deal Dispatch, we’re delighted to be issuing the next one detailing another crop of deals – this time focussing on the training and food sectors, two of our specialist areas.

We continue to see a good level of buy and sell side transactions, although the process is often slower than we’d like. We believe completions are being achieved through the robust and detailed process management, determination and commerciality that we bring to all of our assignments.

Deal Dispatch - Issue 16

It‟s been a while since we issued an issue of Deal Dispatch but, as you can see, we‟ve been very busy delivering the deals outlined below.

Since the last issue we have also rebranded and this is the first “new look” Deal Dispatch, which we hope you enjoy reading.

In addition, the firm has also launched its “Deal Support” offering which is focussed on smaller (usually sub £2m deal size) and simpler deals than are typically dealt with in the Corporate Finance unit. This ensures that, one way or another, Smith Cooper can help with transactions of any size.
