Business Need
The client is a major manufacturer to the heavy clay industry based in the midlands who have used both Instant and Line 50 for 10 years but due to the nominal reporting, foreign currency and stock requirements another solution had to be found. The client initially commissioned another Business Partner to implement Sage MMS but due to issues with installation the system was never taken live and the client continued to use Line 50.
The Solution
After contacting Sage, Smith Cooper were recommended to the client by Sage as a local MMS accredited Business Partner. After an initial consultation and business review it was clear that Sage MMS was the correct solution if properly implemented.
Smith Cooper provided a full implementation and training plan that included a complete conversion of their existing Line 50 data taking into account a revised multi level nominal structure.
Training was provided on site on a module-by-module basis which enabled the team to confidently adopt the new system and the improvements it brought. The data was then transferred over the course of a day and evening keeping the clients down time to an absolute minimum.
The Benefits
The introduction of this system has provided immediate benefits in terms of the analysis and drill down into the Nominal Ledger. This in turn has provided better analysis of each of the product groups which can now be reviewed at a cost centre or department level.
Sage MMS has also coped with company structure by allowing reports and invoices to be produced automatically with different logos and layouts for both companies operated from the site.
The clients foreign currency issues were resolved by the using MMS's multicurrency issues. This means that customers can suppliers can be invoiced and paid in any currency with MMS controlling the exchange differences and month end revaluations.
