BCS event to give businesses insight into online networking
Monday, 5th July 2010

Award-winning Nottingham-based PR, creative and digital agency BCS is to co-host a seminar examining the opportunities offered to businesses by online networking site LinkedIn, with the Nottingham office of leading business advisors, Smith Cooper.

Following on from the success of its recent Tandoori Twitter event, BCS director Rob Wilmot, who co-founded Freeserve, will be speaking at The Art of LinkedIn alongside Claire Bicknell, the business development director at Smith Cooper.

The event takes place on July 13 at Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery, with registration opening at 5.45pm and refreshments provided.

With over 70 million members worldwide, LinkedIn enables its members to establish an extended network of professional contacts and take advantage of business opportunities.

Rob commented: “Social networking has become increasingly valuable to businesses, but many professionals just don’t know how to utilise it to its full potential.

“The Art of LinkedIn will explain how to get the most out of online networking, offering attendees advice ranging from online etiquette, to complementing online networking with face-to-face contact.”

And he added: “LinkedIn can be used every day to build, maintain, and leverage meaningful and mutually-beneficial relationships, and this event is an exciting opportunity for businesses to discover how they can maximise their potential through online networking.”

Claire commented: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this seminar with BCS. The impact of social networking is huge and with so many pressures on marketing budgets, it is important to realise the value of face-to-face networking – that it isn’t just a free lunch at the boss’s expense but can add real value to businesses and their clients.”
