James Delve of Midlands based accountancy and business advisory firm Smith Cooper is up for the prestigious New Accountant of The Year Award at The British Accountancy Awards 2013.
James, who was born and bred in Derby, completed his Chartered exams in August 2012 and was awarded the Strachan Prize for finishing fourth in the International Order of Merit. Following a number of new client wins, complicated refinancing and restructuring deals, James was promoted from Assistant to Senior Manager within only 12 months of qualification.
David Nelson, Partner at Smith Cooper commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled that James has been shortlisted, it’s great that his hard work and dedication is being noticed both inside and outside of the work place.”
James added: “Usually Awards such as this are dominated by National firms so to come from a mid-tier firm and be shortlisted is an incredible achievement. As a firm Smith Cooper is extremely supportive and encourages personal growth, so I’d like to thank all of the Partners for their support and encouragement.”
The British Accountancy Awards are now in their third year and will take place on 20th November at the Tower in central London.
