Smith Cooper IT have been awarded the Microsoft Authorised Education Reseller (AER) accreditation and are one of only six Derby based firms to hold this prestigious certification.
Paul Howard, Director of IT Services for Smith Cooper commented: “We’re very proud to have achieved the AER accreditation. Our new status demonstrates our commitment to keeping ahead of the field when delivering the highest quality of IT services into schools, colleges and universities – in the same way as we currently do for businesses”.
Being AER accredited means that Smith Cooper IT are able to deliver consultancy and advice to educational establishments particularly in the complex field of software licencing, an area that can prove costly to customers if incorrectly advised.
Although the firm has a large existing client base from the education sector to whom they offer services including Sage software, audit and payroll, Smith Cooper IT have now secured their first technical support contract with Derby based Catholic school St Josephs.
The AER accreditation completes the firms’ offering by adding the highest levels of service in educational software consultancy.
Paul added: “We have seen a significant upturn in requests for our IT support by educational establishments recently and this accreditation is testament to our team’s commitment to providing a high level of service to our education customers.”
Smith Cooper IT are now able to offer Microsoft products at reduced prices to qualified educational users as well as additional services including consultancy, cloud computing, engineers and a fully managed IT service.
