A group of accountants and business advisors from Midlands-based firm Smith Cooper have teamed together to raise awareness and money for Prostate Cancer UK and The Air Ambulance Service charities during the month of ‘Movember’.
‘Movember’ is a moustache growing charity event held globally throughout the month of November each year. In 2011, 852,000 ‘Mo Bros’ and ‘Mo Sistas’ across the globe raised a phenomenal £79.3 million all in the name of raising awareness of men’s health issues.
James Bagley, partner at the Smith Cooper Nottingham office and team captain of the ‘Bearded Ladies’ commented: “It started off with just a few of us wanting to take part, but word soon spread around the offices and we recruited even more Mo Bros. We have a number of fundraisers planned throughout the month and we are all looking forward to seeing who grows the best and worst moustaches!”
The Smith Cooper team consists of twelve moustache-growers including Partners from both the Derby and Nottingham offices. Movember is another event added to the list of fund-raising activities Smith Cooper Partners and employees have organised this year including charity golf days, clothing collections and marathons.
James added: “We’d like to thank our colleagues, clients and friends who have all been so supportive throughout our past fundraisers and we hope this support continues during Movember – both The Air Ambulance and Prostate Cancer UK are such worthy causes and each donation really does make a difference.”
