Midlands based accountancy and business advisory firm Smith Cooper continue to expand their tax offering having recently appointed Laura Parr as an Assistant Director Employment Tax Specialist.
With increased focus by HMRC on employment taxes at the same time as companies are looking to reduce costs in a compliant manner the recruitment of Laura with over 20 years of experience working in the employment tax field and drawing on her experience working at HMRC is a key asset to the firm. Laura brings a wealth of experience and expertise which she will bring to businesses to help them to understand their responsibilities and to set up systems to enable them to comply with HMRC in the most tax efficient way.
Laura commented: “I am really excited to be working at Smith Cooper and working with local businesses who often do not receive the specialist advice they are entitled to and deserve. The tax responsibilities for employers are increasing and with it, so is the need to engage specialist help.”
Laura added: “My particular expertise lie within employer compliance and negotiating settlements, employment status, benefits and expenses, termination payments and maximising remuneration packages using salary sacrifice arrangements. I am really excited to add to the existing range of specialist and strategic advice Smith Cooper already provide.”
Jackie Hendley, Head of Tax at Smith Cooper commented: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Laura to Smith Cooper. She is a great addition to our team. Laura’s background and considerable experience built up through an impressive career will add further depth to our expertise in taxation. Laura’s deep and specialised knowledge in employment tax is already proving her worth in the support she is providing the rest of the firm and our clients.”
