Infuse Technology have recently noticed an increase in activity of the Crypt0L0cker ransomware virus. One of the ways this virus can infect computers is through the opening of malicious email attachments. It is therefore important to be extra vigilant when opening email attachments, and Infuse advise that if ever you are unsure of any attachments they should not be opened until you have spoken to their support team.
“Ransomware is a type of malware which restricts access to the computer system that it infects, and demands a ransom paid to the creator(s) of the malware in order for the restriction to be removed.”
There is currently no decryption tool available and it can affect and corrupt all files you have access to. The randsom is $300 which doubles every 96 hours.
If you see this pop up screen below you should unplug your machine from the network it is connected to or remove the power.
