Smith Cooper’s Corporate Finance expert Andrew Durbin has relocated to the firms’ Lace Market Square office in Nottingham to concentrate on working with local businesses.
The firm who have 6 offices around the Midlands region have rearranged staffing to ensure that there is a Corporate Finance expert available at each of the largest locations.
With the Q1 2013 deal reviews recently published and the Midlands region showing a drop in deal volumes by 22.94% (Experian), it is evident that business owners are reluctant to buy or sell during the current economic climate.
Andrew commented: “Although there has been an overall drop in deal volumes, we have had an increase in enquiries both on the sell side and buy side. My move means I am able to work on developing a closer relationship with Nottingham based businesses where as we have received many enquiries from this area of the Midlands.”
Andrew is a Partner at the firm and initially started up the Corporate Finance division with colleague John Farnsworth. The division has been extremely successful over the years and the decision to spread out geographically to concentrate on other cities where Smith Cooper has a large presence was made.
Andrew added: “Although we offer our services on a national scale, the Smith Cooper client base consists of a lot of local businesses and as a firm we want all of our services to be on their doorstep! Nottingham is a city full of thriving businesses, opportunities and I thoroughly look forward to working here.”
