For a second year the Business Recovery and Insolvency (BR&I) Team of Smith Cooper accountants and business advisors have been listed as finalists for two awards in the prestigious TRI Awards.
Formerly known as the Insolvency & Rescue (I&R) Awards, the renamed TRI Awards has been refreshed with a new look and new categories to reflect the critical work that is now prevalent across the profession – particularly in turnaround and restructuring.
Now in its ninth year, the scheme is championing experts undertaking outstanding work in corporate rescue, as well as those making critical investments in distressed and struggling businesses. For the first time, it is more specifically celebrating experts in the field of turnaround and restructuring.
The Smith Cooper Team have made the finalists lists for two awards – Insolvency Manager of the Year and Insolvency Team of the Year in recognition of their outstanding contribution in this field over the past year. The BR&I Teams located in Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham have surpassed their target for the year achieving an income of £1.004m – exceeding 7 figures for BR&I for the first time in the firm’s history. The fee generation is testimony to the collaboration across the three offices, in a tough and challenging market.
Of the nominations Dean Nelson, Business Recovery and Insolvency Partner, commented, “After what has been a successful year for the team, it is fantastic to receive such recognition of our efforts. We hope to see the team build on this year’s success over the coming year.”
The TRI Awards take place on 19th October 2016 in London.
