The IT Division of Smith Cooper Midlands Accountants has been crowned number one by placing the very first UK order for new cloud based Sage 200.
The firm, who have 6 offices around the Midlands, are one of around only 25 UK Sage Strategic partners who are able to provide and configure Sage 200 Online.
Richard Brewster, Head of IT Solutions at Smith Cooper commented: “We have had a great amount of interest in this product and have actively had to hold off on orders until the official release date. As a testament to our commitment to this product we were able to place these on the release day and were happy to be told by Sage UK that we were officially the very first partner to have their order placed.”
Sage 200 Online is the cloud version of the Sage 200 package. It has been developed on Windows Azure under the company's technology partnership with Microsoft, and is aimed primarily at medium sized firms with 20-200 employees.
Richard added: “Our team has been working with Sage for over 23 years and have been a leading partner since the program started. We have a great mix of technical expertise teamed with practical accounting knowledge so not only are we able to provide and configure Sage 200 Online and all other Sage packages, we can support our clients throughout the whole implementation process and thereafter.”
Sage already has a strong presence in the cloud with its customer relationship management system, SagePay and SageOne for small businesses. The introduction of Sage 200 Online now provides businesses with the option to implement a system across their organisation without the one off investments in software and hardware that you would typically associate with a system of Sage 200’s size.
The cloud based package is available on a 'pay as you go' basis and allows for customisation with customers able to choose modules that are relevant to them, not paying for what they don't use, and to add and remove users to respond to fluctuations in demand.
With contracts starting from only 1 year commitment, smaller businesses who previously wouldn’t have been able to afford the infrastructure but needed the functionality of Sage 200 now have an option available to them.
