Corporate Finance Partner at Midlands Accountancy and Business Advisory firm Smith Cooper, Dan Bowtell, ended 2015 on a high with the completion of two transactions on the same day having been at the firm less than two months.
The deals included raising £20m of debt and equity capital for Shepherd Direct Ltd and the management buyout of Central Shopfitters Ltd, both of which completed on 18th December. Both businesses are based in Nottingham.
Dan, who joined Smith Cooper in November 2015 to lead the Nottingham Corporate Finance practice, commented: “I am very pleased to have made such a successful start at Smith Cooper. It is always challenging to build momentum at a new company and usually these kinds of transactions can take a long time to develop, but our excellent relationship with clients has meant both were completed on the same day.
We are confident of deal volumes continuing in the upcoming year and this is backed by a strong pipeline. Throughout 2016 we plan to continue our investment in talent and are looking to expand the team to further support our growth.”
Smith Cooper’s Corporate Finance team advises owner managed businesses, management teams and investors on, sales, mergers and acquisitions, MBO and MBI transactions, development funding and on exits.
The team was recently announced their 9th place position by deal volume in Experian's UK Deal Review and Advisor League Table.
