Building on the growth and success of 2016, Smith Cooper continue to expand their Birmingham team with the appointment of a new Tax Manager.
Jo Shaw joins the Birmingham office, having previously worked at Mazars and Rodl and Partners in the city. She brings her experience of Corporate Tax and Overseas Investment with her to add to the wide offering that Smith Cooper currently provide.

Some of our key appointments over 2016 included: Stephen Newman as Audit Partner, Paul Kurowski as Audit Manager, Shahjad Singh in VAT, Dalveer Sarai (Tax), Michael Bourke (Audit) and Adam Widerkiewicz (Corporate Finance). The appointment of Jo this week gets 2017 off to a good start, by continuing to build on our success of last year.”

The firm recorded one of their most successful years last year winning the SME Advisory Team of the Year Award at the 2016 Midlands Insider Deal Makers Awards in September. This was followed by making the finalist lists in two categories at the coveted TRI Awards, namely Insolvency Manager of the Year and Insolvency Team of the Year, where Smith Cooper were the only Midlands firm to make it that far! The final icing on the cake was being shortlisted as a finalist at the 2016 Birmingham Post Business Awards, where we were the only accountancy firm up for the Professional Services Award.
