After celebrating our Pearl Anniversary last year, Smith Cooper Birmingham has continued to go from strength to strength. By way of a thank you to the local business community that have helped to make it such a successful year, we held a Christmas breakfast at Zen Metro, Cornwall Street in Birmingham on 1st December 2016.
Over the past 12 months Smith Cooper Birmingham has continued to grow, with a 40% growth in numbers across a range of disciplines in the first 6 months of the year alone. Some of our key appointments over the year have included: Stephen Newman as Audit Partner, Paul Kurowski as Audit Manager, Shahjad Singh in VAT, Dalveer Sarai (Tax), Michael Bourke (Audit) and Adam Widerkiewicz (Corporate Finance).
The year has not been devoid of recognition on the award front either! In September, we won the SME Advisory Team of the Year Award at the 2016 Midlands Insider Deal Makers Awards. This was followed by making the finalist lists in two categories at the coveted TRI Awards, namely Insolvency Manager of the Year and Insolvency Team of the Year, where Smith Cooper were the only Midlands firm to make it that far! The final icing on the cake was being shortlisted as a finalist at the 2016 Birmingham Post Business Awards, where we were the only accountancy firm up for the Professional Services Award.
Jackie Hendley, Head of Office, commented, “We have had a fantastic year. Hosting a Christmas Breakfast seems a fitting way to thank all those who have contributed to our success.”
“We have seen our office continue to grow, enabling us to continue to offer a diverse range of services in line with our client expectations. We hope that 2017 will see the office continue to prosper and grow."
Smith Cooper support the local market place, activities with The Birmingham Chamber of Industry and Commerce; Birmingham Professional Services; Colmore Business District and Marketing Birmingham to name a few.
