In the last three decades, Smith Cooper has become one of the most trusted Midlands based accountancy and business advisory firms working with SME’s and owner managed businesses increasing its headcount to over 200 staff and partners and number of offices to 7.
To celebrate their 30 year anniversary, the Smith Cooper Birmingham team held a Christmas breakfast for over 150 members of the business community at The Metro Bar on Thursday 3rd December.
Over the past 12 months, Smith Cooper Birmingham has grown through key appointments across the full spectrum of specialisms including the addition of two new partners: Nick Lee, Insolvency and Darren Hodson, Corporate Finance.
Commenting on their 30th year, Head of Office Jackie Hendley explained the growth of the Birmingham office, where the headcount increased by 45 per cent during the year, replicates a strong growth in advice provided to its clients as well as an increase in the number of clients.
Jackie said:"2015, the year of our 30th anniversary, has been a strong year for Smith Cooper's Birmingham office. We have invested heavily in our team to ensure we respond to the changing needs of our clients. Small to medium sized and family owned businesses are looking for business advisers who offer all round holistic advice, assisting both the corporate and the owners, are with them throughout their journey and who are able to sit outside of their area of specialism and look at their business as a whole.
"This has led to changes in the way we recruit and develop our people. This not only ensures we recruit talented advisers, but that we are able to offer them a development path that allows them to develop and progress within the organisation.
We have also continued to support the local market place, through support and activities with The Birmingham Chamber of Industry and Commerce; Birmingham Professional Servies; Colmore Business District and Marketing Birmingham to name a few.
With our impressive pipeline and further exciting plans for growth, we anticipate the office will continue to prosper and grow during 2016 and beyond...”
