Smith Cooper partners James Bagley, Partner in the Nottingham office, and David Nelson, Partner in the Derby office are took part in the Prudential Ride London – Surrey 100 Bike Ride on 31st July 2016. Starting in the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park the route followed a 100 mile course through closed roads in the capital and onto Surrey's country roads and hills.
The duo have raised nearly £2.5k (including Gift Aid) to date for WellChild, the national charity which works to ensure the best possible care and support for the thousands of children and young people in the UK living with long-term or complex health conditions.
Of the event James Bagley commented, “It was great to be part of such a well organised event. We had set ourselves a goal of £900, so to raise nearly £2.5k for this fantastic cause is brilliant. David and I would like to thank the colleagues, contacts and friends who have supported us in this challenge.”
David Nelson also commented, “WellChild provide an invaluable service for children and young people in the UK with quite specific needs and we are proud to have raised a substantial amount through this event to support them. I can only mirror James’ thanks to those that have supported us.”
