Smith Cooper Accountants and Business Advisors are pleased to announce that the ACCA has renewed their Platinum Employer Status, following its recent review of the firm’s training and development processes.
The ACCA Approved Employer Programme recognises an organisation’s commitment to progress its trainees’ careers as finance professionals. It is an international standard of recognition for employee training and development within the Accountancy and Finance professions.
Smith Cooper currently have 14 qualified ACCA staff and 7 trainees across the whole firm, which has offices in Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Leicester, Ashbourne, Telford and Buxton. The Platinum Employer status is the highest level an employer can be awarded. To become an ACCA Approved Employer a number of best practice requirements relating to the support they provide ACCA trainees and members in the workplace must be met supported by relevant documentation to verify meeting the appropriate standard. The award is reviewed every three years.
In addition to this Smith Cooper also offer ICAEW training, with 16 trainees studying for the ACA qualification. There are also staff studying for the tax exams and Smith Cooper has recently started offering the CFAB qualification. The latter is a standalone qualification which the ICAEW offers, which once attained allows the trainee the option to move onto the ACA exams and receive exemption from the Certificate stage.
