Smith Cooper has announced the promotion of Natasha Smith to the position of Tax Advisory Partner as part of the firm's strategy to maintain the momentum of growth created during the past 36 months.
Natasha’s appointment as Partner is representative of the ongoing success and development of the firm and, according to the firm’s Managing Partner, Andrew Delve “further strengthens the solid platform for growth that the firm has set itself in being the advisors of choice for the owners, funders and advisors to ambitious, entrepreneurial owner managed businesses.”
Natasha has over 20 years of experience in helping businesses plan strategically for the future from a tax perspective. She has enjoyed a successful career within many different areas of the tax profession, including a Big 4 accountancy firm and an independent tax boutique. This breadth of experience enables her to quickly identify solutions for clients and provide them with a unique personal service for all their tax needs.
Natasha’s promotion comes at a time when HMRC are cracking down on tax avoidance and heavily targeting businesses and individuals by issuing demands for disputed tax through the new APN regime.
Natasha commented: “HMRC gather information on individuals and businesses from a much wider range of sources and are actively targeting various sectors. This drive for suspected underpayment of taxes is only set to increase further and so, given the current climate of increased regulation, our clients rely on us more than ever to ensure they are fully compliant with their tax filing responsibilities.
As a leading business advisory firm with a specialist tax department, Smith Cooper continues to provide an unrivalled level of service to all of our clients both from a tax planning and compliance perspective.”
Natasha also works closely with the business advisory team of Smith Cooper to ensure all business transactions are structured tax efficiently.
Managing Partner Andrew Delve commented: “There was no question as to whether Natasha was going to make the grade of a Partner. Since joining Smith Cooper, she has consistently proved her technical and commercial expertise. Her intelligence, incredible work ethic and unwavering commitment to the success of Smith Cooper and our clients is evident in all of her work.”
Natasha added: “I am fortunate enough to work with a team of incredibly talented and highly knowledgeable individuals and am delighted to join at Partner level.”
Based in key areas around the Midlands, Smith Cooper provides accounting and business advisory services to clients including business recovery & insolvency, corporate finance, transaction support, HR & payroll and tax advice. Smith’s promotion comes at a vital point, as 2014 saw growth in the senior and specialist teams at Smith Cooper as well as numerous high profile client wins.
