Waste transfer and management business Holborn Waste based in Aston, Birmingham has entered administration resulting in the loss of 5 jobs.
With nearly 50 years in the sector, Holborn Waste operated waste collection and management to the local public and private customers.
The company appointed Head of Business Recovery and Insolvency Dean Nelson and Business Recovery and Insolvency Partner Nick Lee of Midlands based accountancy and business advisory firm Smith Cooper as administrators on 1 May 2015.
Nick Lee confirmed that the business had been suffering a decline in trade in recent months in a competitive market place. The rising costs of making landfill deposits made it difficult for the Company to turn a profit.
Nick commented: “The loss of any company with a rich history is disappointing. However, despite the company’s best efforts to seek a solvent sale, administration became the only option.”
